What is the appropriate method for assessing the quality of faculty teaching? What are the reasons behind some faculty members’ objections to the results of such evaluations? How can the credibility of evaluations be improved? These are some of the questions this session seeks to answer. Various methods for evaluating the teaching performance of faculty members have been suggested. Student, peer, and management evaluations are the most common. Of these methods, student evaluations are the most prevalent. Today, these surveys are primarily conducted electronically. Experience has shown that using a single evaluation method at only one point in time reduces the effectiveness of performance evaluations. A multi-faceted approach to evaluating faculty performance was designed and implemented to address this challenge and enhance the credibility of student survey results. The results gained higher credibility in the proposed approach and played a more effective role in improving faculty performance.
