What should we do with unmotivated students? How can we increase student participation in the teaching and learning process? What is the appropriate method for assessing students' learning? These are some of the questions this session seeks to answer. Faculty members face various educational challenges throughout their professional careers, which require organized solutions. Trial and error, and in some cases, consultation with senior faculty members, have been frequently used for addressing these challenges. Globalization, significant advancements in technology and cognitive sciences, and a global shift toward outcome-based accreditation of educational programs have made it increasingly necessary to adapt the traditional model of engineering education. The key element in implementing these changes in education is the faculty members themselves. Developing faculty teaching and learning skills is an organized form of support to help improve engineering education. This program presents a model for developing faculty teaching skills and results from its implementation at several universities nationwide.
