Abstract: What is strategic planning and what are its uses? How can strategic planning be used to analyze and identify solutions to solve educational problems? Strategic planning is a type of long-term planning that answers two basic questions. What should we do (which defines our purpose) and how should we do it? (which gives strategies). The strategic planning process begins with determining the vision and mission of the issue under consideration, and it continues with distance analysis. There are different ways to analyze the gap between the current and the desired situation. Among them, we can mention SWAT and PETSEL methods. These methods are usually focused on analyzing the strengths and weaknesses of the investigated problem with external opportunities and threats that affect it. Using the information obtained from distance analysis, goals and objectives are determined and an action plan is prepared. The operational or executive plan is the steps and activities that are carried out to achieve strategic goals. The last stage of strategic planning is monitoring the progress or determining the quality of actions. The purpose of this workshop is to develop the ability to organize and analyze strategic planning for a university, faculty, department, educational program, etc.; and use its results to improve the quality of education.
