What is the purpose of tutorial classes? How should I prepare for teaching in tutorials? What type of teaching should I provide? Why are students unmotivated? Have I been successful in my teaching? These are some of the questions this session aims to answer. The ultimate goal of teaching is learning. Learning leads to developing three categories of abilities: knowledge-based, skill-based, and attitude-based. The main goal of tutorial classes is to build skills and, to some extent, attitudes. Teaching assistants play a significant role in engineering education. The total hours of tutorial classes usually exceed the professor's time in direct teaching. Teaching assistants can establish more direct communication with students and, in addition to teaching the assigned content, can share their experiences as students.
