What is the difference between creativity and innovation? How is invention made? How can we shorten the innovation path? What is the TRIZ method, and what capabilities does it have? What are the principles of TRIZ innovation? These are some of the questions we aim to answer in this session. The pinnacle of engineering activities is design, and the key element in design is creativity and innovation. Engineering design is a flawed process with an open-ended outcome. The design has no single solution; its possible solutions cannot be determined by a specific algorithm or mathematical method. The design process is organized to analyze activities with a flawed structure and assist in decision-making and optimal selection among potential options. Many efforts have been made to achieve a systematic method for creativity, innovation, and invention. One of the successful proposed methods for systematizing innovation and invention is TRIZ. TRIZ is an organized approach to creatively solving technical problems by resolving contradictions within the system.
