What is a course or curriculum map? How are these maps created and analyzed, and what purpose do they serve? These are some of the questions that this session seeks to answer. Curriculum mapping is a visual representation of the relationship between an educational program's structure and its students' learning outcomes. These maps serve as a communication and planning tool, documenting what is taught in a course or curriculum. Mapping is a process for identifying educational gaps and redundancies. Additionally, it provides information about the knowledge and skills students have acquired in previous courses, preventing unnecessary repetition of content across different classes. Educational mapping is also a crucial tool for determining the alignment of a course or academic program. A course is considered aligned when there is consistency between what the instructor intends to teach, what is taught, and what is assessed at the end of the course. These maps are practical tools for reviewing courses and educational programs.
