Recent advancements in the "science and art of teaching and learning" have led to complementary suggestions for effective teaching practices. In the book *How Learning Works* (2010), researchers outlined seven principles for effective teaching based on findings from recent studies. These principles are prior knowledge, organization of knowledge, motivation to learn, achieving mastery, repetition and practice, development of students, and self-regulated learning. While these seven principles are often discussed individually, they are interconnected and co-occur in actual learning environments, impacting overall performance. In this session, we introduce the seven innovative teaching principles, present supporting evidence for each, and recommend effective strategies to implement them.
