Teaching and learning

In recent decades, the science and art of teaching and learning (pedagogy) have made numerous positive advancements. These findings have facilitated better, more profound, and more enduring learning. Such progress has made the professional development of educators in teaching-related areas more essential than ever. Effective teaching and learning processes require addressing five fundamental questions: 1. What do we want learners to know? (learning outcomes). 2. What do learners need to achieve this goal? (curriculum). 3. What activities facilitate learning? (teaching and learning strategies). 4. How will learners demonstrate that they have learned? (assessment of learning). 5. How will the instructor know the teaching has been effective? (feedback from learners). This course examines various aspects of the teaching and learning process and provides methods to answer the five questions above. The teaching and learning program is conducted in two three-days courses. Successful completion of the first course is required for participation in the second one. These courses are offered in virtual and hybrid formats. Specially designed textbooks are provided for this training program. Participants who successfully complete any of these courses will be awarded a certificate.
